CHICAGO — It's going to be a scorcher today, Chicago. It's also apparently an "air pollution action day." Yikes. If these things don't bother you, there's plenty to do outside.
1. The Both in Millennium Park: Aimee Mann and Ted Leo's band The Both plays Millennium Park tonight. The last time the duo played Chicago, they put on an awesome show at the Metro, but the crowd was AWFUL. Give them a warm welcome tonight and show them that we aren't a bunch of jerks. Curious about their sound? Listen to "Milwaukee" here. Chicago's Pillars & Tongues opens. Free. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St.
2. Pretty Much Bikram Yoga: There's free yoga in Wicker Park this evening, and it's going to be almost 100 degrees with the heat index this afternoon. BYO mat, and we suggest a large water bottle. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. at Schiller Street and Damen Avenue in Wicker Park.
3. Can I Borrow Your Underpants For 10 Minutes? Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, David Bowie on the soundtrack — Is there anything better than '80s teen movies? "Sixteen Candles" plays in Fulton River Park tonight. Free. Starts at 8:30 p.m. at 353 N. DesPlaines St.
4. African Dance on the West Side: The internationally celebrated Najwa Dance Corps brings its African dance routine to Moore Park in Austin this afternoon. Free. Starts at 3 p.m. at 5085 W. Adams St.
5. Have a Meatless Monday at Masada: Logan Square's recently opened Masada has an amazing patio and many options for meat lovers and vegetarians. Snag a rooftop patio seat, sip one of the refreshing Moroccan Mojitos and try the Fattoush Salad, Fetit Betinjan and Falafel & Roommates (which includes fried cauliflower and a garlic, jalapeño, lemon sauce. Yum). Open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Mondays at 2205 N. California Ave.
