HUMBOLDT PARK — The close-knit business owners behind California Nights will host a fifth installment of the neighborhood meet-and-greet Saturday.

The first event kicked off on the night Vintage Quest opened on March 8, according to owner Keith Manners, and what began as five neighboring businesses has grown to include a rotating list of several others along California Avenue between Division Street and Augusta Boulevard.

“All of the vintage dealers on California stayed open late along with me,” Manners said. “After the success of the night we decided to keep it going.”

That initial lineup included Space Oddities, Humboldt House, The Arborist, Meadowlark, and Vintage Quest. Recent California Nights have included music from a local jazz band and a food truck serving German food. This month, the Flying Saucer is set to join the party.

Participating shops down California Avenue, including Meadowlark, Vintage Quest, The Arborist, Humboldt House, Space Oddities and the Peanut Gallery, will stay open from 5 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the neighborhood.

Mobile vintage boutique Lost Girls Vintage will also be on hand Saturday with “Winnie the Winnebago,” a trailer filled with vintage clothing.
