EDGEWATER — Lincoln Square's Ruff Haus Pets has expanded to Granville Avenue.

Owner Rich Forsythe said the business strip surrounding his new shop at 1206 W. Granville Ave. reminded him of the strip surrounding his original location, which opened on Rockwell Street in 2000.

At both spots, he's neighbors with an acupuncturist.

"OK, you got a good coffee shop, an acupuncturist and you're right next to an 'L' stop," he said Friday. "Wow, this feels like it's right."

As his rescue dog Zuzu barked at the shop's front door, clearly looking for a walk, Forsythe said he had been looking to expand his business and found Edgewater to be a good fit.

"I look for good energy," he said Friday.

Forsythe said the store's grand opening kicked off at 1 p.m. Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. From 12-3 p.m. Saturday, One Tail at a Time will be on site with dogs up for adoption. On Sunday, everything in the store will be 10 percent off.
