COOK COUNTY COURTHOUSE  — A man driving a Lexus being sought in a hit-and-run pulled up next to a squad car in Logan Square and honked his horn because he said he was "looking to get into a car chase," authorities alleged Thursday.

After he was chased, hit with a stun gun and handcuffed, Daniel Gluckman told police: "I was looking to get into a car chase. I wanted to see how fun it would be," prosecutors said in court.

It started when Gluckman happened upon a father and son tending to a broken-down car near Hamlin and Diversey avenues just after midnight Wednesday, prosecutors said.

The father and son were pushing the car down the street. Gluckman "continuously beeped" his horn at them as he drove by, and then circled around the block, prosecutors said.

Gluckman clipped the 39-year-old father with the passenger side of the Lexus and then ran over his legs after the man fell down, according to a police report.

After that, someone flagged down a squad cad and described the Lexus. A message went out on police radio.

Soon after, in the same area, Gluckman pulled up next to a marked police car and laid on his horn, prosecutors said.

The officers flipped on their lights and sirens and tried to stop Gluckman, but he hit the gas and led then on a chase for about 4 miles, police said.

After police finally caught him in the 1500 block of North Monticello Avenue in Humboldt Park, Gluckman continued to resist police, the report states.

Officers tried to use a stun gun on Gluckman twice, but the probes would not stick to the vest he was wearing, according to the report.

After Gluckman was eventually cuffed and under control, police found various drugs in his car, the police report states.

Gluckman, of the 800 block of West Blackhawk Street, was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated fleeing, leaving the scene of an injury accident and two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Gluckman's attorney told a Cook County judge Thursday that his client is bipolar and has no criminal record.

The judge ordered Gluckman held on $150,000 bail.
