CHICAGO — Police from the Bridgeport-based Deering District will conduct a crackdown on drunken driving this weekend.

The roving DUI Strike Force Patrol will look for signs of impaired driving and will focus on those who appear to be drunk, speeding or not wearing safety belts. The patrol will run from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.

A similar roadside safety check netted six DUI arrests in Rogers Park June 27-28. Police also issued nine tickets for insurance violations, 16 for driver's license violations and 16 tickets for other violations, along with one arrest for possession of pot and one arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.
