WEST ROGERS PARK — Asan Memedovski opened Bina's Cafe and Mediterranean Bistro on Lunt Avenue "to serve the people and make them happy," he said.

The small cafe replaces the former Rub's Backcountry Smokehouse at 2407 W. Lunt Ave. Rub's has since moved around the corner on Western Avenue.

Memedovski, a native of Macedonia, said Bina's would mostly be run by his wife, Linda, who would also cook.

Bina's is named after their daughter, Sabina, 6.

"It's a good neighborhood," Memedovski said, adding that he lives just 40 steps away in a nearby building.

I want to "give them good food and make them happy — not junk," he said of residents.

Bina's' menu, for dine-in or take-out, incudes appetizers, like chicken wings and french fries; salads, like Caesar, Greek and Balkan; sandwiches, like a char-broiled burger, Philly steak, meatball and turkey; pasta, like Mediterranean, fettuccine and baked mostaccioli; and pizza, like chicken, ground beef, Mediterranean and veggie.

All dishes, except for pizza, cost less than $9. Pizzas cost less than $16, depending on size.

Bina's is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sundays.
