CHICAGO — Mondays are kind of the worst, but they don't have to be. There's plenty of things to do outside on this 80-degree July day.

1. Hang with Some French People: It's Bastille Day! Celebrate in Daley Center Plaza by watching waiters compete in a sprint while carrying a tray full of beverages. Also catch some live French music. Things kick off at 5:30 p.m. at 50 W. Washington St. Free.

2. Take in Some Global Jams in the Park: Noura Mint Seymali is beloved in Mauritania, and she'll show Chicagoans why tonight, with music that blends Arab and sub-Saharan African culture. Ted Sirota's Heavyweight Dub also performs. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. in Millennium Park. Free.

3. Catch a Free Movie: The critically acclaimed "Beasts of the Southern Wild" screens in Bronzeville's Mandrake Park tonight. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. at 900 E. Pershing Road. Free.

4. Get Your Om On in Wicker Park: There's a free yoga class in Wicker Park every Monday. BYO mat and do an afternoon sun salutation. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. at Schiller Street and Damen Avenue in Wicker Park.

5. Eat Cheap Burgers in Uptown: Big Chicks bar serves up $1 burgers every Monday. Take yours out on the patio and be sure to order their Monday drink special, the Orange Crush. Vegetarian? Veggie dogs are just a buck on Mondays as well. Big Chicks, 5024 N Sheridan Road, opens at 4 p.m.
