HYDE PARK — The curators and artists from the “Not Or, But And” exhibit will be available for a meet-and-greet Thursday at the Hyde Park Art Center.

The exhibit is the most recent iteration of four months of curatorial experiments as part of the “Fast Forward : Rewind : Play” program at the art center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave.

“Nor Or, But And” curators Melody Saraniti and Diane Ponder work with 18 artists.

Saraniti asked figurative and abstract artists to create work based on each other’s art.

Ponder worked with figurative artists who arrive at something recognizable through abstraction.

The meet-and-greet with Saraniti, Ponder and the artists starts at 5 p.m. Thursday at the center.

The participating artists include Larissa Setareh Borteh, Dana DeGiulio, Robin Dluzen, Judith Geichman, Anne Harris, Cameron Harvey, Sarah Hicks, Amanda Joseph, Mike Nudelman, Maria Vergara; and Steve Coenen, Marcelo Eli, Astrid Fuller, Christine LaRue, Sandra Perlow, Judy Petacque and Susan Redeker.

“Fast Forward : Rewind : Play," which runs through Aug. 31, highlights connections between the students and faculty of the art center’s Oakman Clinton School and Studios and the broader Chicago arts community.
