CHICAGO — Four people were shot and wounded, including two teenage boys, during daylight hours Monday in separate Far South Side shootings.

The most recent shooting occurred around 6 p.m., said Officer Anna Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. A 17-year-old boy, 14-year-old boy and a man were standing at the corner in the 9700 block of South Lowe when a group of men approached them, Pacheco said.

One of the men in the group opened fire. The 17-year-old was shot in his head and armpit, the 14-year-old in his thigh and the man in his head and body, Pacheco said.

The younger boy and the man were transported to Little Company of Mary Hospital; the 14-year-old is in stable condition and the man is in critical condition.

The 17-year-old is in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Earlier Monday, a man believed to be in his 20s was shot in South Deering.

Around 10:30 a.m., someone shot the man in his left thigh at 100th Street and Luella Avenue, said Officer Michael Sullivan, another police spokesman.
