WICKER PARK — Piece Brewery and Pizzeria posted photos of Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen to its Facebook and Twitter pages Wednesday along with a cryptic message that it would be giving out Riot Fest tickets, with details "to follow."
Piece posted a photo to Facebook of Nielsen inside the restaurant, 1927 W. North Ave., along with the message, "See Rick Nielsen and Cheap Trick at Riot Fest this September. Buy your tickets at Riotfest.org and follow us on twitter @piecechicago where we will be giving away passes. Details to follow."
Nielsen, an investor in the restaurant who also provided the inspiration for Piece's chocolate pizza, was filming a segment for Rock & Roll Kitchen inside the restaurant Wednesday, Piece owner Bill Jacobs said.
The Chicago-based show combines rock celebrities and food, and judging by the photos, this particular episode included Nielsen and Easy Cheese.
Jacobs said whoever wins will get a note signed by Nielsen as well as guitar picks.
The music fest takes place in Humboldt Park Sept. 12-14, and and headliners include The Cure, Jane's Addiction, The National, Rise Against and Weezer, among others. Tickets are currently on sale.
Jacobs stayed mum on more details about Riot Fest but urged fans to follow the Piece Twitter account for upcoming information.
