LOGAN SQUARE — Bang Bang Pie Shop's Sideyard Dinner Series will kick off in June and last throughout the summer, but a teaser this weekend is meant to get customers in the mood.

The series will start in June, but expect the smells of a slow-roasted feast May 31 during the "brisket biscuit" special, according to Michael Ciapciak, the shop's owner.

"We'll be smoking it all day, so hopefully people smell it," Ciapciak said. "Our chef will take it off the smoker and plate it for you right on the spot."

Both the plans for this weekend and the summer series are in partnership with Flesh for Food, which will help provide the main courses for each Sunday evening, June through September, beginning with a goat roast.

Tickets for each event will cost around $35 for a family-friendly evening under Bang Bang's twinkling lights from 5-8 p.m., Ciapciak said. The events will be BYOB and will feature a full-course meal: three sides, one signature dish, pie and drinks.

"It's a chance to give back to the community … but also because we like it," Ciapciak said.

Outdoor music and in-house collaborations also will be a key part of each evening, he said.
