CHICAGO — One man was killed and another man was wounded in separate shootings since Monday evening, police said.

About 10:45 p.m. Monday, a 29-year-old was killed on the Near West Side.

About 7:10 p.m., a 45-year-old man was shot in South Austin.

The man told police he was walking out of a gangway in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place when an  gunman approached him and opened fire.

The 45-year-old was shot three times in his right arm and was transported to Loyola University Medical Center where his condition stabilized.

Authorities said the man is a documented gang member.

As of Tuesday morning, no one was in custody in connection with either shooting, police said.
