Little Village Man Charged in April Murder

CHICAGO — A Little Village man has been charged with murder after authorities said he fatally stabbed 40-year-old Benito Juarez in April.

Jose Marroquin, 34, of the 2700 block of South Kildare Avenue, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder. He was also wanted on a warrant.

Police said Marroquin fatally stabbed a 40-year-old man in the throat on April 27 during an argument in the 4100 block of West 26th Street about 4:40 a.m.

Benito Juarez, who lived in the 2100 block of 50th Avenue in west suburban Cicero, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 5:29 a.m. on April 27, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Marroquin was slated to appear in bond court Sunday.
