CHICAGO — Three people were shot, one fatally, in daytime shootings on the South Side Wednesday.

A 29-year-old man was shot in his left thigh while he was riding in a car in Chatham Wednesday afternoon, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.

The shooting occurred about 4:20 p.m. in the 100 block of West 80th Street, police said.

Someone took the victim to St. Bernard Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

No one is in custody.

Earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in his back while in the 7800 block of South Morgan Street at 11:50 a.m., Sweeney said.

After the Auburn Gresham incident, the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.

In Greater Grand Crossing, a man was found fatally shot in a hallway. Few details were available in that shooting.
