Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town Wednesday

Zucchero at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 8 p.m.

Ron Onesti presents the Italian Rock-pop singer, who has sold more than 50 million records across the world in his four-decade career. His sound is a blend of gospel, soul and rock joined with rhythmic Mediterranean melodies. Tickets are between $49-$89 for the all-ages show.

Harmonic Dunn Presents: Kris Lager Band at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted St., 8 p.m.

Be prepared for a night of soul music and boogie trance with the Kris Lager Band, known as the "Thrift Store for Junkies from the heartland." Also on the bill are Crussia, a jazz/funk organ trio from Chicago, and Pageant. Tickets for the 21-and-over show are $8.

Swearwords at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 8 p.m.

Swearwords describe their music as "songs about soaring and sinking in the American Midwest. As seen from Space." They'll perform along with Animals in Human Attire and Slurp's Up. Tickets are $8 for the 21-and-over show.

Inaugural Beer Dinner at Compass Bar, 433 W. Diversey Parkway, 7 p.m.

If you haven't already, here's the perfect excuse to try out Compass Bar, the sports bar and restaurant that opened in February. Their first beer dinner features a family-style meal with Artisanal Imports including La Trappe Quadrupel, Meantime Coffee Porter, Tripel Karmeliet and Colorado Vixnu Imperial IPA. Larry Reeb at Zanies Comedy Club, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

"Uncle Lar" offers his famous tips on everything from marriage to lotteries to children. The "wise-cracking black sheep" is also a regular on "The Bob and Tom show." Tickets for the 21-and-older show are $25 with the minimum purchase of 2 food items or beverages.
