CHICAGO — A 90-year-old man was found dead Monday after apparently falling down a garbage chute on the Northwest Side.

Office workers found the man unresponsive in a building in the 4600 block of West Belmont Avenue sometime before 9 a.m., police said. It appeared as if the man fell down a garbage chute.

Rocco Sette, 90, who lived in the building, was pronounced dead on the scene at 9 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police ruled the case a death investigation.
