CHICAGO — A 21-year-old woman was injured in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

About 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, the woman was shot in her right knee. The 21-year-old was in a second-floor apartment in the 6400 block of South May Street when a male acquaintance discharged a gun, striking her around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

It was unclear whether the shooting was accidental, but the shooter was in police custody Wednesday.
