COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Any would-be robbers might want to think twice before robbing a RadioShack.

Antonio James, 20, appeared in bond court Wednesday on charges of armed robbery.

Prosecutors said James, of the 9200 block of South Dobson Avenue, walked into a RadioShack in Hyde Park on March 4 holding a handgun with an extended clip.

James demanded the two workers in the store, located at 1453 E. 53rd St., hand over merchandise. The two workers filled a bag with electronics and cell phones, prosecutors said.

"What he didn't know is they also put a GPS device in the bag," a prosecutor told Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. in court Wednesday.

Police traced the live GPS to a residence where they found the stolen electronics and identified James as the alleged robber.

James, who was not at the residence at the time, was later pulled over driving a Chevy Monte Carlo with no license plates. During the stop, police ran his name and found an alert out for the 20-year-old's arrest in connection with the RadioShack theft, according to prosecutors and court records.

The two store workers identified James, and he was charged with two counts of armed robbery.

On Wednesday, Bourgeois set bail for James at $350,000.
