Sox Park Neighborhood Parking Permits Available at 11th Ward Office

BRIDGEPORT — With the Chicago White Sox Opening Day at U.S. Cellular Field taking place later this month, residents are reminded to get neighborhood parking permits at the 11th Ward office or face pricey fines.

The free permits are available at the office 3659 S. Halsted St. Single-game passes will be doled out by request.

To register, just bring a valid Illinois driver's license or state ID showing a local address. City officials say all cars displaying the 2014 decal also must have a valid city vehicle sticker on the windshield. 

Enforcement begins March 31, when the Sox are scheduled to square off against the Minnesota Twins. First pitch is 3:10 p.m.

The parking rules are generally enforced beginning three hours before a game until three hours after it ends.

The general boundaries for areas requiring a permits are 29th Street to Pershing Road, and Morgan Street to Wentworth Avenue.
