CHICAGO — Calling all pint-sized cooks: MasterChef Junior will hold open casting on Jan. 18 for its second season.

The weekly cooking competition debuted on Fox last fall. Kids ages 8 to 13 compete for cash and prizes in culinary challenges hosted by Chef Gordon Ramsay. Judges include Chef Graham Elliot and winemaker Joe Bastianich of Eataly.

Open casting will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile, 633 N. St. Clair St., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kids must pre-register online to secure a spot.

Alexander Weiss, a 13-year-old from New York, won $100,000 when he was crowned winner of Season 1. The teen whipped up macaroons, homemade gnocchi and veal chops during the course of the show.
