DOWNTOWN — Give yourself a Christmas present this year: a delicious meal on the town without having to cook a thing.

Whether it's a swanky date or a traditional turkey-centric Christmas Day dinner with the family, there's a bevy of options for dining out that keep the spirit festive and your kitchen clean. Check out our roundup of restaurants with reservations open Dec. 25:

Mercat a la Planxa puts a Catalonian spin on Christmas dinner with a four-course, 13-dish tasting menu Christmas Day, including Spanish shortrib flatbreads and charcuterie plates, for $65 Early riser? Their Christmas Day brunch, for $25 per person, features their signature holiday gingerbread pancakes. 683 S. Michigan Ave.

If the Walnut Room isn't your style, Lockwood Restaurant's Christmas buffet features another giant tree display, minus quite so many screaming, suburban tots. The Palmer House Hilton restaurant is open throughout Christmas Day, with a brunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $70 per person, followed by the usual a la carte dinner menu from 5 p.m. on. Still recovering from your turkey-filled Thanksgiving? Filini's Feast of the Seven Fishes menu may be more your style. The traditional, seven-course Italian meal features authentic seafood dishes and complimentary Prosecco for guests, for $75 per person. 221 N. Columbus Dr.

Celebrate Christmas Jordan style. The Bulls star's Michael Jordan's Steak House has service on Christmas Day until 2 a.m. at the bar, and until 10 p.m. in the main dining room. The regular menu is available along with seasonal specials, and all kids ordering off the kids menu will get a free mini-basketball with their meal. Dinner and a present? Check and check. 505 N. You'd think the restaurant name referred to hours worked per day with the many holiday specials at Sixteen this week. On the morning of Dec. 25, The River North restaurant will host a Christmas Day brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at $148 per head, followed by dinner service from 6 to 10 p.m. 401 N. Wabash Ave.

Chef Martial Noguier puts a French twist on traditional Christmas dishes at Bistronomic's Christmas Day, like a warm escarole and potato salad starter and veal medallions glazed with mandarin orange and licorice. Open to 10 p.m. Wednesday, the restaurant's prix fixe menu is $65 per person on Christmas Day. 840 N. Wabash Ave.
