CHICAGO — Vice President Joe Biden will be in town Monday to break ground on the first new domestic violence shelter built in the city in more than a decade.
The two-story, 40-bed facility will provide services to domestic violence victims and their children, according to The White House.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Senator Dick Durbin will also attend the event. The location has not been publically announced.
During his visit to Chicago, Biden will also attend a fundraiser and give a speech at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics, helmed by Barack Obama's former political mastermind David Axelrod.
