THE LOOP — People in the Loop witnessed a different sort of flash mob dance party Thursday when a group of people, including children, got out of an SUV stopped in a busy intersection, got on the roof and started to groove.

Police were called about 1:15 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of LaSalle and Monroe streets and found three adults dancing on the roof of their Chevy Tahoe with four children, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

The adults — a 59-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman — were arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for endangering their children.

The four children were taken by authorities and handed over to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

The adults were all from San Tan Valley, Arizona, authorities said.

Confused passers-by stopped to take photos and videos as the group danced on top of the car. Ellie Goulding's "Lights" could be heard playing.
