LINCOLN SQUARE — Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, step right up to the greatest show ever produced in a Chicago park.

The Midnight Circus is back for another season of Circus in the Parks, bringing its unique brand of acrobatics, artistry and just plain clowning around to Independence and Welles Parks.

The circus will perform five shows at each park: Friday to Sunday at Independence Park, 3945 N. Springfield Ave., and Oct. 25-27 at Welles Park, 2333 W. Sunnyside Ave.

Tickets can be bought in advance online and cost $20 for adults or $15 for children ages 2-18; children under 2 are free.

Since 2007, Midnight Circus has been performing across Chicago, helping park advisory councils raise money for park improvements. More than 16,000 people attended shows in 2012, and the circus has raised more than $450,000 for parks in just six years. All participating parks — 11 in 2013 — share equally in proceeds from ticket sales.
