CHICAGO — Concrete falling from a Lake Shore Drive overpass onto LaSalle Drive caused roads to be closed during rush hour Tuesday, officials said.
The concrete fell from the overpass near the North Avenue exit in Lincoln Park. The exit ramp and a portion of LaSalle Drive is closed, said Pete Scales, Chicago Department of Transportation spokesman.
CDOT crews were inspecting the overpass to remove any other loose concrete, Scales said. The exit and overpass remained closed as of 7:40 p.m., officials said.
Crews responded to the scene about 4:30 p.m., and no one was injured, The Tribune reported.
