CHICAGO — One man is dead and two others are injured in shootings since Sunday night.

John Wallace was shot in his back following an argument he had with another person on the street in the 6400 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Medical examiners identified Wallace later Monday morning.

In nonfatal shootings:

• Also in Englewood, a 32-year-old man was hit in his right shoulder with a bullet while standing outdoors with his brother in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard, Greer said. The siblings told police they heard the shots about 3:30 a.m. The victim was taken to Stroger and was listed in stable condition.

• In Austin, a 27-year-old man was shot in his foot about 9:15 p.m. and walked into Mercy Hospital, Greer said. The shooting occurred while he was walking in the 5200 block of West Washington Boulevard.
