CHICAGO — Police on Thursday released images of a sport utility vehicle suspected of fatally striking an 83-year-old man in West Rogers Park Tuesday.

Norman David Esho, 83, of the 6300 block of North Francisco Avenue, had been walking through the intersection of Devon and California avenues when a red or maroon SUV hit him at 6:22 p.m., said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

Police said the SUV might have been a Chevy Tahoe or Suburban or a vehicle by GMC. It was last seen heading east into an alley near Rockwell Street and Peterson Avenue.

Esho was taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
