Man Shot in West Pullman Monday Dies Tuesday

CHICAGO — A man who was shot in the chest Monday night died Tuesday morning, officials said.

Dovone Jackson, 23, was shot about 9:17 p.m. Monday in the 11700 block of South Normal Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Jackson was hit in his chest and rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

Jackson, of the 11600 block of South Eggleston Avenue, was pronounced dead at Christ at 6:12 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

The shooting was possibly domestic-related, Zala said.

Two other men were fatally shot Monday.
