GRAND CROSSING — Cheodis Young was killed by two men who shot at him on the street and then chased him into his home to finish him off, neighbors said Friday.

Young, 36, was shot several times about 12:19 p.m. Thursday in the 7300 block of South Wabash Avenue, according to police and the medical examiner's office.

Neighbors said they saw a car approach the house before someone inside fired several shots at Young.

When Young tried to run into the house, two men ran after him, neighbors said.

More shots rang out before the two men ran out carrying items from the house, neighbors said.

Young was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:56 p.m, authorities said.
