DOWNTOWN — Most of Chicago will undoubtedly tune in Monday night to watch the Blackhawks try to win the Stanley Cup by beating the Boston Bruins in Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Final.

McDonald's seems to hope that while they're watching, french fries will be on their minds as much as their team winning faceoffs.

Ads from the fast food chain popped up in the Loop Monday that posed 3D yellow hockey sticks in a fry container, emblazoned with a simple, universal message: "Go Blackhawks" and below, their tagline, "I'm lovin' it."

Twitter users turned news of the ads into another opportunity for competition.

"McDonald's probably hasn't done the same for the Bruins in Boston," Twitter user @Jamieroquai said.

Jamieroquai's not wrong — the ads are only in Chicago, not in Boston, a McDonald's spokeswoman confirmed Monday to DNAinfo.com Chicago.

"[The ads] originated in Chicago," said Danya Proud, a rep for the company, whose headquarters are in suburban Oak Brook. "We wish the team the very best of luck."

"Both teams," she added quickly.

ESPN reporter Sarah Spain, no doubt on high alert for Blackhawks-related news, paused to call the ad "very cool."
