ROSCOE VILLAGE — The Chicago White Sox are set to invade the North Side on Thursday, only this week their intent is to light up the skies, not Cubs pitching.

If all goes according to plan, around 9 a.m. team representatives will partner with WGN-TV, 2501 W. Bradley Place, to close out the station's morning news broadcast with a brief "Home Run Fireworks Barrage" promotional display.

Ald. Ameya Pawar's 47th Ward Office warned those in the vicinity of the television studio, including nearby Lane Tech College Prep, to avoid any confusion or concerns related to the fireworks.

The Cubs and Sox face off in a series Monday through Thursday next week.
