COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Authorities say two brothers with a gun crashed a post-church family gathering in Chatham Sunday afternoon, robbing several of the people at the party.

Courtney and Cordero Robinson, 19 and 22, are charged with armed robbery after prosecutors said they pointed a gun at two young men attending the family celebration in the 7900 block of South Indiana Avenue.

One of the two alleged robbers said, "don't move and give me all your s---," according to court records. When the victims ran down an alley, the Robinsons chased after them, shoving one into garbage, authorities said.

A 69-year-old grandfather heard the commotion and came to the aid of his family.

Before fleeing, the two robbers allegedly grabbed an iPhone and $110 from the pocket of one of the young men.

They sped away in a car with police in pursuit. They crashed into cement barrier at the end of a cul-de-sac near 84th and Wood streets and then ran off.

Police found the brothers hiding in separate garages shortly after 5 p.m. the same day.

Both men were on parole at the time of the alleged robbery.
