CHICAGO — Police are warning Douglas residents to watch out for two men who sexually assaulted a male jogger, according to a new community alert.

About 4 p.m. Friday, a man was jogging in the 2900 block of South Vernon Avenue when he was approached by two men, police said.

The first man grabbed the victim from behind and placed a hard object into the victim's side. The second man asked for cash before demanding the victim perform a sexual act.

Police described both suspects as black men in their late teens or early 20s. The first man is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 130-150 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and Nike gym shoes. The second suspect is 6-feet tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Police advise residents to report suspicious activity and, if attacked, take note of unique physical characteristics such as scars, tattoos or acne.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
