Police Warn of Attacks by Teen Girls

CHICAGO — Police issued a community alert to Chicago Lawn residents Saturday, warning them of increased batteries and robberies by a group of teen girls in the area. Two incidents on Thursday evening led to the warning.

Police say the group of girls typically approaches victims and physically attacks them. In one incident, a vicitm's mobile phone was taken.

The group is said to include four to seven black females, between the ages of 14 and 17, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7, and weighing beteen 120 and 140 pounds

The incidents happened in the 5700 block of South Whipple Street, and in the 5500 block of South Sacramento Avenue.
