Police Warn of Armed Robberies in Jefferson Park

JEFFERSON PARK — Police have issued an alert to store-front businesses in the Jefferson Park neighborhood after seeing a "pattern of armed robberies" by the same person, police said.

Police issued the alert Saturday evening after four businesses in the Jefferson Park area were robbed. According to the police alert, a man enters the store, pulls a knife on the cashier and demands cash.

The man is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old and having a medium build. He has been seen wearing a black jacket or black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gym shoes, according to police.

Police believe the same man is responsible for the following armed robberies:

  • 5300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, March 3, at about 9:59 p.m.
  • 5200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, March 7, at about 4:50 p.m.
  • 4900 block of West Irving Park Road, March 7, at about 5:05 p.m.
  • 4300 block of North Central Avenue, March 8, at about 11:00 p.m.
