EDGEWATER — Police are looking for a man they say exposed himself to a woman and began to masturbate on a southbound Red Line train near the Granville "L" stop Sunday night.

A woman on a southbound train reported that the man was riding in the same car with her about 6:45 p.m. when he "exposed his penis and started to masturbate," according to the CTA.

When the train stopped at Granville, the man walked off and boarded the same train a couple of cars away. He rode to Thorndale before boarding a northbound train.

CTA surveillance photos show a black man wearing a Chicago Bulls jacket walking through a CTA station.

Rogers Park Police Cmdr. James Roussell, who passed out information about the man at a community policing meeting Thursday, said the photos should lead to an arrest.

"I'm hoping someone says, 'I know that guy'," he said.

People have a misconception that the police can't catch criminals such as this, Roussell said, "but we will."
