CHICAGO — The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the death of a 7-month-old girl from Englewood.

Spokesman Dave Clarkin said the department is investigating Sharon Anderson's mother for neglect.

Sharon, of the 7330 block of South May Street, was found unresponsive Saturday morning. She was pronounced dead at St. Bernard Hospital at 5:01 Saturday morning, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Clarkin said the department has had no prior contact with the family, but he said the family was provided prevention services by DCFS in August. Four other children living in the home are now staying with relatives under a DCFS safety plan, Clarkin said.
