CHICAGO — Officials are investigating an allegation of neglect against the mother of a 2-month-old girl who died Thursday, authorities said.

Jamiera Sanders, of the 4900 block of South Hoyne Avenue, was pronounced dead at 6:47 a.m. at Holy Cross Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating an allegation of neglect against Sanders’ mother, said DCFS spokesman Jimmie Whitelow.

DCFS investigated the family for allegations of neglect in February 2012, but those allegations were determined to be unfounded, Whitelow said.

Other children in the home are currently in the care of relatives, Whitelow said.
