CHICAGO — It may be hard to imagine running 26.2 miles when wind chills are below zero, but registration for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opens soon — and has been selling out faster every year.

Registration for the 36th annual event opens at noon on Feb. 19, according to marathon organizers. The race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13, and will start and end in Grant Park.

Last year, the race sold out in just six days.

The Chicago Marathon is one of the most popular races in the world, possibly because of the city's flat terrain and cool temperatures. While 45,000 will be allowed to register, others will be able to run the race by offering to raise money for a charity.

Marathon entry is $175 for U.S. participants and $200 for those signing up from outside the U.S.
