'Chicago Fire' Returns to Logan Square for Filming

LOGAN SQUARE — A Logan Square apartment building  was disguised as the the "Wymer Arms Hotel" Tuesday for a day of shooting for the NBC drama "Chicago Fire."

The stretch of Sacramento Avenue between Milwaukee Avenue and Logan Boulevard was filled with a film crew, security guards, a prop ambulance and some enormous spotlights for most of the day. Assistant Locations Manager John Quilco said Tuesday afternoon they would not have to shut down the street for an exterior night shot of the building.

One of the apartments inside was made to look like a hotel room for a scene involving paramedics responding to an emergency there.

"Chicago Fire" is a show about the day-to-day lives of Chicago firefighters and paramedics.

The filming was for episode 14, which will air in a few weeks, Quilco said.

It isn't the first time the show shot in the neighborhood.

In early October, parts of episode eight were shot nearby on Logan Boulevard. That episode aired Dec. 5, according to the NBC website.
