HUMBOLDT PARK  — Andre Brown was gunned down on a Humboldt Park street during a violent June weekend — just months after his best friend was shot to death.

Brown, 33, of the 900 block of North Keeler, died of multiple gunshot wounds early on June 3 after being shot in the 1100 block of North Keystone the night before, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Brown and his best friend, Andre Myrick were killed in gang-related conflicts, according to Myrick’s mother, Lasonta Myrick.

Though Brown and his friend both had extensive criminal records, Myrick said the two were trying to get their lives in order before they were killed.

In the mid-to-late 1990s, Brown received multiple drug convictions and weapons-related convictions, court records show.

Brown’s family could not be reached for comment.
