CHICAGO — Pamela Valenzuela was found strangled to death Jan. 9 in North Lawndale, authorities said.

Valenzuela, 25, was found unresponsive in a chair in a building in the 1900 block of South Harding Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The mother of three kids — ages 8, 6 and 3 —   had a rough life, said her mother, Maria del Carmen Valenzuela, who declined to elaborate. Carmen Valenzuela now cares for her grandchildren in her Cicero home.

Court records showed Valenzuela had convictions for shoplifting and theft among other misdemeanors. Most recently she had a 2011 prostitution charge that was dropped, according to court records.

“They have families, they are loved,” Valenzuela’s mother said of people who have troubled lives.

No on has been arrested in the case, according to police data.
