CHICAGO — Secretariat could've gotten away with it.
A small herd of horses broke out of a stable in Old Town Wednesday morning but their taste of freedom didn't last long — police corralled the equine elopers a short time later.
Around 10 horses hoofed it into the alley in the 1300 block of North Sedgwick Street about 8:45 a.m., police said.
Cops helped corral the horses by blocking exits from the side street.
And a short time later, an employee of the nearby stable opened the gates, allowing the sneaky steeds to return to their pen, police said.
