CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was charged in a 2009 South Side murder, police said Friday.

Floyd Goston, whose last address was 500 block of East 40th Street in Bronzeville, was charged Thursday with murdering a 19-year-old man in the 3500 block of South Lake Park Avenue in Oakland on Nov. 8, 2009, police said.

Officers had found the victim lying on the pavement outside an apartment building near the border of Oakland and Douglas neighborhoods after they responded to a call of shots fired, police said. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Clifford Edwards, according to RedEye Homicide Tracker.

It is unclear if more than one suspect was involved in the killing, as two men were running through the apartment building about the time of the murder, police said, citing initial reports.

Goston is set to appear in bond court today, police said.
