BRIDGEPORT — Neighborhood performers, both male and female, will strut their stuff for a chance to be crowned Miss Bridgeport.

The fundraiser kicks off 8 p.m. Friday at the Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3221 S. Morgan St. and benefits the Humboldt Park-based Connections for Abused Women & their Children, a resource agency for victims of domestic violence.

Organizers are asking for a $10 donation at the door and promising free drinks during the event, according the pageant's Facebook page.

Judging the pageant will be First Lutheran Church of the Trinity Pastor Tom Gaulke, Lauren Piatek, and Ed Marszewski.

A few local bands — including Inferior Design and one-man experimental psychedelic rocker, Potions — will perform after the winner is crowned.
