Chicagoans to Enjoy Unusually Warm Weather This Weekend
CHICAGO — You can look forward to some "extremely warm" weather this weekend, the National Weather Service says.
Temperatures are expected to hit the 50s through the weekend and reach a high of 61 degrees on Monday.
That won't be enough to break any records, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Richard Castro. The record high for Dec. 3 is 71 degrees set in 1970, but Castro said this weekend's weather is still much warmer than normal.
"It would be what you call 'extreme warmth' regardless of whether it breaks the record," Castro said.
Normal highs for early December usually reach the upper 30s. Castro said temperatures will cool down on Tuesday and Wednesday, but he said the city could continue to see above-average temperatures until the second half of December.
The National Weather Service is also reporting a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday night and a 20 percent chance of rain during the Bears game on Sunday and again on Monday.
