WEST HUMBOLDT PARK — The faint smell of smoke, police tape and boarded windows were the only remaining signs of a fire that ripped through a West Side church early Monday.

Firefighters were called to the True Temple of Apostolic Faith, 3816 W. Madison St. about 1 a.m. Monday, CBS 2 Chicago reported. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was unknown.

A Fire Department spokesman said the investigation was suspended until the results of an analysis of the property’s electrical system was completed.

Pastor Craig Ousley told the station the congregation of about 250 members was gearing up to celebrate the church's 17th anniversary.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
