Heather is a News Editor at DNAinfo and directs the Web site's political coverage.

After dabbling in online marketing and business development (and once, briefly, as the co-proprietor of a Guatemala-based pants import/export company called "Siempre Sexy" — but that's a very long story), Heather settled into a career as an event producer, managing projects such as the New York Times' annual book fair, New York City's bid for the 2012 Olympics and other productions. Most recently, she worked for Intelligence Squared U.S., producing a series of live policy debates with politicians, journalists and decision-makers that were broadcast on National Public Radio.

Heather realized she didn't want to just produce other people's work — she wanted to create her own. She earned a master's degree in digital journalism from Columbia J-school and became a one-woman reporting band.

Heather's from Oakland, Calif., and she graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in English.

Fun Fact: Heather's favorite sandwich is salami, pickles (the super sour kind) and onion with either Dijon or French's mustard (she's flexible) on a baguette. Everyone she's ever introduced to the sandwich adores it.
