MANHATTAN — One of Brooklyn's best restaurants is opening a Manhattan location.
Brooklyn Fare, the borough's only restaurant with a three-star Michelin rating, will open a second location on West 39th Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues this summer, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The Downtown Brooklyn restaurant, known as the Chef's Table at Brooklyn fare, sits inside a high-end grocery store. It is one of the toughest reservations to get in town with its $225 per person 20-course prix fixe tasting dinner (the only option offered). There are only 18 seats, all along a counter in the kitchen.
Owner Moe Issa told the Journal he will transplant a similar concept in Manhattan — a grocery store with a small restaurant inside. There will be no reservation policy in the new restaurant (getting one in Brooklyn can take weeks), it will have 60 seats and an a la carte menu of small plates, Issa said.
"We're going to have seafood," Issa told the Journal. "We're going to have a lot. It will be a little bigger menu than we have now."
There will also be a chef's table, but it will have only 10 seats.
Brooklyn Fare's chef Caesar Ramirez, who's a semifinalist for a James Beard award, will split time between the two locations, the Journal reported.
The only other restaurants with three stars from Michelin are Daniel on the Upper East Side, Eleven Madison Park in Gramercy, Jean Georges on the Upper West Side, and Le Bernadin, Masa and Per Se in Midtown.
