MANHATTAN — Preschools are going to have a lot of Isabellas and Jaydens.

The two names were the most popular for babies born in New York City in 2010, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene reported Wednesday.

There were nearly 600 Isabellas and more than 800 Jaydens, according to birth certificates issued that year.

Other names rounding out the top ten were, for girls, Sophia, Olivia, Emily, Madison, Mia, Emma, Leah, Sarah and Chloe.

Parents of boys also liked Ethan, Daniel, Jacob, David, Justin, Michael, Matthew, Joseph and Joshua.

Nine of the top ten names for girls were holdovers from last year, with Chloe pushing Ashley off the list.

For the boys, Jacob and Joseph made it back into the top ten after falling out in 2009.

Michael, which was the most popular name from the 1980s through early 2000s, fell from fourth place in 2009 to seventh in 2010.

Some New York area sports stars also inspired the recent parents.

Eli came in at number 49 last year and Carmelo snuck in at 168.

Some of the least popular names for boys included Bentley and Otto.

Britney and Courtney were lowest on the list for girls.

One of city's boroughs was also an inspiration with Brooklyn making it in at number 138.

The number of children born in the city dropped slightly at 1.6 percent from 2009 to 2010 from 126,774 to 124,791.
